



Clemson 64-Syracuse 61 Postgame Notes
- Clemson led 64-61 with :14 left after Carter Welling went 1-2 from the line. Donnie Freeman missed a long three for Syracuse with :09 left, Nathan George saved the ball from going out of bounds, but his throw back went to the Tigers’ Carter Welling. He dribbled up the sideline then passed off to Jake Wahlin who was fouled with less than a second left. He miss the free throw and the clock expired.
- Clemson had a nine point first half lead, but that was cut to one at halftime. A three-pointer by Butta Johnson put the Tigers back up by ten with 13:36 to play. The Orange went through a 3-18 shooting stretch over a ten minute stretch late in the first half and into the second half.
- The Tigers maintained at least a four point lead until Freeman made a layup with :43 left to make it 63-61. Welling later made his free throw for the three point lead, and the Tigers held on at the end.
- Clemson shot 48% and won in the paint 46-24. RJ Godfrey led the Tigers with 14 points. Dillon Hunter scored 10 points, and hit back-to-back triples with under six minutes left to help the Tigers hold on to a seven point lead.
- The Tigers have won five in a row over the Orange. They are 11-3 overall and 1-0 in the ACC. They will play at Pittsburgh on Saturday afternoon.
