  • Clemson scored the first 14 points of the game as the Tigers made 5 of their first 9 shots, with four of them three-pointers by four different shooters.
  • The Tigers eventually built a 27-point lead at 38-11 with 3:01 left in the half as the Bearcats made just 2 of their first 16 shots.
  • Clemson, however, did not score the rest of the first half and led 38-18 at the break.
  • Clemson still led by 21 with 17:51 left in the game, then the Bearcats went on a 12-0 to pull to within 42-33 with 15:01 left.
  • The lead was still 58-49 with 4:28 to play, and then Cincinnati made another run, outscoring Clemson 9-2 to make it 60-58 with 1:27 remaining.
  • A layup by RJ Godfrey put Clemson up four, but a three-point play the other way made it a one-point game with 40 to play.
  • The teams exchanged layups and a pair of free throws, and it was 66-65 Clemson with five seconds left.
  • Dillon Hunter made two more free throws with three seconds left, and Day Day Thomas missed a three for the tie with :02 left.
  • Six Tigers scored in double figures, led by Ace Buckner and Carter Welling with 12 each.
  • Clemson has won three straight and finished the non-conference portion of its schedule at 10-3. The Tigers will play at Syracuse December 31st.
