  • Gamecocks outscored The Citadel 15-4 over the final six minutes of the first half to turn a four point deficit into a 35-28 halftime lead.
  • The Gamecocks made 7 of 9 shots during that late first half run, with four of them layups. At one stretch, they hit five in a row.
  • After building the four point lead, the Bulldogs were 1-6 from the floor rest of the half.
  • The Gamecocks led 52-47 with 6:36 to play, then proceeded to hit on seven of their final ten shots while holding the Bulldogs to a three of 13 finish from the floor.
  • USC was just 3-23 from three, fewest threes made in a game this season. The Citadel was only 2-19. The Gamecocks were 18-21 at the line.
  • Meechie Johnson led the Gamecocks with 19 points and eclipsed the 1000 point mark for his career.
  • South Carolina has won two straight and is 7-3 and will play at Clemson Tuesday night.
