



Postgame notes
- Clemson’s 70-63 win over Mercer, Saturday, marked Brad Brownell’s 300th victory as head coach of the Tigers (300-191, .601).
- The Tigers trailed by six at the break before outscoring Mercer 37-24 in the second half.
- Guard Dillon Hunter sparked the comeback, scoring 10 of his 15 points after halftime.
- Clemson’s depth played a factor as the Tigers’ enjoyed a 22-6 advantage in bench scoring.
- Brad Brownell came away impressed with the Bears,”I think Mercer is really good, really well-coached, they spread you out, they’ve got personnel that can shoot threes, a point guard that can get in the lane and score, big guys that can score one-on-one with their back to the basket, they run good action and obviously they were really ready to play.”
- Clemson (8-3) shot 50% in the second half, a marked improvement over the first half, and Brownell credited his club for “gutting it out.” Brownell said, “we had some guys step up and make plays,” before singling out Hunter, RJ Godfrey (9 points, 8 rebounds) and Nick Davidson (12 points).
- It was the first win for the Tigers in two weeks following dropping games at Alabama and to BYU in the Jimmy V Classic.
- Clemson will now turn its attention to rival South Carolina. The Tigers and the Gamecocks will tip off at Littlejohn Coliseum at 7 p.m., Tuesday.
