Clemson Friday offered 2027 WR Trey Wimbley (6-1 175) of Daniel. He was in the ’28 class but plans to reclassify to 2027. Wimbley moved in to the Upstate from Birmingham prior to this season. He attended the high school for current Clemson quarterback Christopher Vizzina. His dad was a teammate of Dabo Swinney’s at Alabama. Wimbley attended the Swinney camp last summer where the coaches got a close look at him. He also has offers from Ole Miss, SMU, Liberty and Appalachian State among others. This season Wimbley had 57 catches for 1072 yards and 14 touchdowns.
There was no news on Friday from Clemson target CB Julian Peterson who made an official visit to Clemson that ended on Monday. The former Penn State commitment has also made official visits to North Carolina and Wisconsin.

Wofford SAF CJ Coombes (6-1 213) will transfer. He has two years of eligibility left. For Wofford, he had 120 tackles with eight tackles for loss, two sacks and two interceptions in 15 games.
