Orangeburg-Wilkinson LB/RB Jordan Avinger Sunday afternoon announced a decommitment from Arkansas. He had committed to the Razorbacks on August 1st over USF, East Carolina, James Madison and Liberty. South Carolina has remained interested, and he visited for a game last month. He was offered by North Carolina on Saturday after a visit, and he was offered by West Virginia last week.
Clemson Friday offered senior DE Franklin Whitley of Greenville High. Whitley had been hoping for the offer for the last couple of weeks after visiting Clemson for the Syracuse game. He also has offers from USC, Auburn, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Alabama and Florida. He visited Alabama on Saturday for the Vanderbilt game.
Dutch Fork DE Julian Walker visited North Carolina on Saturday. He’s also been to games at South Carolina this season. He has been committed to Michigan and continues to hold to that.
South Carolina is in the top 10 with junior DE Justin Weeks (6-5 235) of Atlanta. The others are Georgia, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Miami, Texas, Tennessee, Florida, Southern Cal and Auburn.
South Carolina and Clemson target 2027 DB Davion Jones of Charlotte was offered by Georgia.
2026 WR/CB Jaylen Dash (6-1 195) of Orangeburg-Wilkinson visited North Carolina Saturday for the Clemson game.
2028 WR Jordan Gorham of Timberland was offered by Florida State. He visited on Saturday.
6-10 Williams Stevens of Lake Norman, NC will make his commitment announcement Saturday at 2:00 PM. Clemson, St. Mary’s, Vanderbilt and Davidson are his top schools. He had been involved with South Carolina but canceled his visit there.
Clemson target 2027 6-7 Thomas Vickery of Asheville picked up offers from Cal and NC State in recent days.
6-2 Lola Lampley of Indianapolis has set an official visit to USC for October 16th, according to Dushawn London of 247Sports. She has visited Ole Miss and Mississippi State and will also take officials to LSU this weekend and to Tennessee on October 30th.
