Clemson could not overcome whatever it was that Texas A&M was able to offer DE Bryce Perry-Wright (6-3 260) of Buford, GA. who on Saturday announced a commitment to the Aggies. Perry-Wright made his announcement from Las Vegas via the 247Sports YouTube channel.
“D-line University,” is what Perry-Wright had to say about Texas A&M after making his announcement. “Coach (Mike) Elko, being a defensive coach, definitely a defensive school that I wanted to be a part of. I just love it over there. I think I made everybody’s day over there (when he committed privately). I made my day too. They’re getting a dog. I think they’re getting a special player.”
Clemson was perceived as the favorite for Perry-Wright as his recruitment began to unfold. The Tigers offered him in June of 2024, and with his family ties to the program, Clemson held what appeared to be a strong upper hand early on.
However, as his recruitment progressed, and he made his official visits, Texas and Texas A&M moved into the picture to make this a three team race to the end. Miami was the other school in his final four.
The miss is a big one for the Tigers as Dabo Swinney, Nick Eason and the staff poured a lot of recruiting energy and resources into a player who is expected to be a major difference maker in college.
The Tigers still have two defensive ends committed and a total of 20 commitments in their 2026 class.
