WR Sequel Patterson (6-0 165) of Indian Land will announce his college commitment tonight around 8:45 PM via 247Sports. Patterson, who reclassified from 2027 to 2026, has a final four of South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and Kentucky. South Carolina was his only official visit and the Gamecocks have been widely pegged as the favorites.
Northwestern SAF Tamarion Watkins has set July 14th at 1:00 PM for his commitment announcement. He has South Carolina, Texas A&M, Georgia and Miami as his four finalists. He took OVs to all four.
One of the top prospects in South Carolina for the 2026 class, OT Desmond Green (6-4 325) of Timberland, announced a commitment to Florida late Thursday morning. Green made official visits to South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Georgia, Oklahoma and Florida. It appeared early in his recruitment South Carolina would eventually be his choice based on the numerous visits he made with the Gamecocks including camps, junior days and games. He first visited Florida in April of 2024, then he went back to Gainsville last March for a junior day. From that point on, the Gators were strong players for him. Georgia was also a school he visited multiple times and at one point appeared to be his favorite. For Shane Beamer and South Carolina, missing on Green is a setback as Beamer loves to build around in-state talent. The Gamecocks have two offensive linemen committed for 2026 and both are from the state. Green becomes the fifth offensive line commitment for the Gators
Next up on the commitment calendar for Clemson and USC will be DT Keshawn Stancil of Clayton, NC. His finalists are Clemson, NC State, Penn State, Georgia and Miami. Paul Strelow of TigerIllustrated Thursday morning gave a projection to Clemson for Stancil who will announce on Saturday at 6:00 PM at his school. He’s the last Clemson target set to announce in the month of June.
Next up for USC will be DT PJ Dean of Clemmons, NC. He is set to announce on Monday with USC, Ohio State and Georgia the finalists. Predictions for him have been posted in favor of Georgia. Dean is the last USC target scheduled to announce in the month of June.
Noon is the scheduled announcement time on July 2nd for South Carolina target DT Noah Clark. He will announce at his school in Durham.
WR Ty Evans of Charlotte, who had an early offer from South Carolina, committed to Miami.
South Carolina target QB Landon Duckworth of Jackon, AL named the Male Athlete of the Year for his area of Alabama, which is near Mobile.
Former South Carolina RHP Joey Wittig is transferring to Louisiana Tech.
Former South Carolina RHP Brendan Sweeney is transferring to Mississippi State.
Former South Carolina OF Tyler June is transferring to Florida Southwestern.
