STRecruiting Notebook 6-24: Beamer alerts new commitment for USC; Two more Clemson targets with pledge dates

There’s another commitment for South Carolina in the 2026 class hanging out there. Head coach Shane Beamer put out a commitment alert on Monday night. The Gamecocks have just eight commitments for the 2026 class, and only three in the heavy recruiting month of June. But the Gamecocks are coming off a big recruiting weekend, and Beamer no doubt is hoping the work done then will lead to a run of commitments.

Per Paul Strelow of TigerIllustrated, DT Keshawn Stancil of Clayton, NC will announce on Saturday. He visited NC State over the weekend and the Wolfpack appears to be strong with him as well. He also visited Georgia, Miami and Penn State.

Clemson target SAF Blake Stewart of College Park, GA has set July 13th for his commitment announcement. He’s down to Clemson, Michigan, Miami and Vanderbilt.

On3 writers Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons Monday projected South Carolina target CB Samari Matthews to Texas. He has set July 11th for his commitment announcement.

Michigan appears to be a strong contender for South Carolina target DE Julian Walker of Dutch Fork coming off his official visit, based on an interviews he gave to Rivals and 247Sports. . He also took OVs to North Carolina and NC State. Of course, he has visited South Carolina numerous times with hs dad being a part of the strength staff.

One-time Clemson target OT Dalton Toothman committed to Mississippi State.

2027 6-6 Jarvis Hayes of Atlanta was offered by Clemson. He also has offers from Georgia Tech, Florida State, Cincinnati, Ole Miss, Auburn, Missouri, Georgia and others.
