STRecruiting Notebook 6-20: Duckworth is in Columbia; Another Clemson target comes off the board Friday night

QB Landon Duckworth of Jackson, AL arrived at South Carolina Friday morning for his unofficial visit. Jordan Kaye of The State had video of Duckworth watching the seven-on-seven competition with some of the coaches. Duckworth just competed in the Elite 11 Finals in California. He is down to USC and Auburn. He made an unofficial visit to Auburn last weekend, and he has taken official visits to both.

Clemson target SAF Joey O’Brien of Glenside, PA, is set to make his commitment announcement on Friday night at 7:15 PM via his Instagram with Clemson, Notre Dame, Penn State, and Oregon his final four. He made official visits to all four, with his Clemson visit coming on the Tigers’ primary weekend of May 30th.

WR Sequel Patterson of Indian Land announced on his Instagram Thursday night that he’ll take an official visit to South Carolina this weekend. Patterson announced on June 1st that he was reclassifying from 2027 to 2026. Since then, he has drawn numerous major offers, including USC, Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee, Michigan, Arkansas, Notre Dame and Texas A&M. In April, he visited Texas A&M, Tennessee, USC and Florida State. He has had USC, Tennessee and Georgia as his top three.

Clinton OG Tre Aiken is no longer down for an official visit to USC this weekend. He has taken official visits to Georgia Tech, NC State and Virginia Tech.

Dorman DT Christian Waring is scheduled for an official visit to Boston College this weekend.

South Carolina offered 2027 DE Success Nwabude (6-7 245) of Athens after he was in for a camp on Thursday. He also has offers from Georgia, Florida State, Liberty and Georgia Tech.

South Carolina offered 2028 DT Major Green (6-5 325) of IMG Academy after a camp session in Columbia on Thursday. His other offers include Virginia Tech, Miami, Penn State, Syracuse, Colorado, Maryland and East Carolina. He’s a native of Portsmouth, VA.

South Carolina Thursday offered 2028 DE Kyle Pope (6-3 228) of Cartersville, GA. He also has offers from Oregon, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Auburn, Miami, Michigan, Arkansas, Georgia Tech, LSU, Tennessee, Missouri, Utah, Coastal Carolina and others.

Christ Church WR Jude Hall will make an official visit to Memphis this weekend.

2027 CB Joshua Dobson of Catawba Ridge was offered by SMU and by Memphis.

Former Upstate outfielder Scott Campbell signed with Kentucky, according to On3 Sports. This season, he hit .388 with 11 home runs.
