Two of the top prospects in North Carolina, twin brothers DT Aiden Harris (6-3 250) and DE/LB Andrew Harris (6-2 225) of Weddington, NC will cross the border for their college football after announcing a commitment to South Carolina Saturday night. The brothers’ goal was to play college football together, and the Gamecocks made it clear early on that they would give them that opportunity.
The two attended camps at USC going back as far as 2022, and as they developed into prospects, USC defensive line coaches Travian Robertson and Sterling Lucas made sure they were front and center in their recruiting. The brothers said they developed strong relationships with the coaches, and were given a good idea about how they would be used on the defensive front.
“What they do with their D-ends and hybrids and all of them, they produce a lot of players.” Andrew Harris said earlier this spring. “For now, I’ve got to put on a little bit more weight, but I would be all-around,” Aiden Harris said in April. “I would be a three (technique). But I’d be basically like a hybrid player for them, able to move around and see the field more.”
“I can always look at these coaches and they will always be there for me outside of football,” Aiden Harris continued. “If something were to go wrong, I just know they will be there for me. There’s no ifs, ands or buts about it. I’ve got faith in them. They’ve got faith in me. It will be good to be surrounded by them day by day and have them develop me.”
The brothers made their official visits to USC over the weekend. They were also scheduled to visit Auburn and NC State.
As a sophomore, Andrew Harris had 104 tackles with 25 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks. Last season, Aiden Harris recorded 82 tackles, including 31 tackles for loss. He also had 13.5 sacks and deflected eight passes. For his career, he has 229 total tackles, including 62 tackles for loss and 23.5 sacks.
The commitments from the Harris twins give the Gamecocks a total of seven pledges for their 2026 class.
