SCHSL finds itself in the cross hairs of the South Carolina Legislature (AUDIO)

High school athletics in our state could have a different governing body in the future

If you pop up on the government’s radar, it’s not normally good news. Well, that is currently where the South Carolina High School League finds itself as the athletic season in our state comes to a close. When the new legislative session begins in Columbia, talks are expected to resume on SC House Bill 4163, which proposes creating a new state-run athletics association.

Recently, SCHSL Commissioner Dr. Jerome Singleton dropped by SportsTalk to discuss the ongoing debate between the High School League and the state legislature and what could happen to high school athletics in the future.
