Gamecocks football coach Shane Beamer and Gamecocks basketball coach Lamont Paris met with the media prior to the Charleston/Berkeley Welcome Home Tour Stop event, Monday.

Beamer was upbeat following a Spring period that saw his roster add multiple players including OL Nolan Hay, DL Troy Pikes, Edge Demon Clowney and Edge George Wilson. Beamer was less enthused that the Gamecocks hadn’t received word on the 2025 eligibility of transfer running back Rahsul Faison. USC is hoping that the NCAA will grant Faison another year of eligibility under the “Pavia rule.”

Lamont Paris already received his good news from the NCAA, granting wing Myles Stute another year of eligibility. Paris is also holding a roster spot open for Collin Murray-Boyles, who has declared for the NBA Draft. Murray-Boyles has until June 15th to make a decision to return to school or turn pro.
