STRecruiting Notebook 4-28: Transfer DT visited South Carolina over the weekend; Clemson in final 6 with RB target

According to Wes Mitchell of Gamecock Central, South Carolina had an official visit Sunday afternoon from Georgia Southern transfer DT Troy Pikes (6-3 290). Pikes has also taken official visits to Georgia, Ohio State and Georgia Tech and is expected to render a decision not long after he completes the USC visit. Pikes is a native of Atlanta who spent two seasons at Georgia Southern redshirting his first. Last season he appeared in 13 games and had 13 tackles. The Gamecocks have signed 14 transfers out of the Portal to this point.

RB Jae Lamar of Moultrie, GA named a final six of Clemson, Ohio State, Georgia, Auburn, Miami and Florida State. He cut Florida, Alabama, North Carolina and Tennessee from his previous shortlist. He visited Clemson in March and is scheduled for his official visit there on May 30th. He also has official visits set with Auburn, Miami and Florida State.

Clemson target OT Mitchell Smith was offered by UCLA.

Former South Carolina CB Emory Floyd is transferring to Appalachian State.

Former USC QB Dante Reno could be looking at a reunion with former Gamecocks QB coach Dowell Loggains at Appalachian State after visiting there Saturday.

Christ Church WR Jude Hall was offered by James Madison.

College of Charleston signed 6-5 Kendall Taylor, a transfer from Wingate who was a D-2 All American last season.

Former South Carolina reserve center Sakima Walker is transferring to California.
