STRecruiting Notebook 4-11: Top in-state prospect commits to UNC; USC among favorites with Maryland CB

RB Jaylen McGill of Mountain View Prep committed to North Carolina Saturday. McGill had visited Chapl Hill earlier in the month. He also visited Clemson and Tennessee in March. Last season McGill rushed for 1658 yards and 24 touchdowns. Clemson and USC both offered McGill but neither made a strong recruiting effort for him.

South Carolina is in the top six with CB Amauri Polydor (6-0 170) of Baltimore. The others are Penn State, Indiana, Michigan State, Maryland and Virginia Tech. He has set officials to USC May 30th and Penn State June 6th per Hale McGranahan of TheBigSpur. He camped at USC last summer was also in for a game last season.

SAF Jowell Combay (6-2 190) of Marietta, GA visited South Carolina late in the week. The Gamecocks offered him in early March. He’s also visited Duke, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Georgia and Alabama. He also has offers from Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Missouri, West Virginia, Louisville, Indiana, Auburn and others. He has official visits set with Missouri for May 30th and Tennessee for June 20th.

South Carolina offered 2027 DT Antwan McKoy (6-3 280) of St. Paul, NC while he was in for a visit Saturday.

2027 RB Caden Waye of McDonough, GA visited South Carolina Saturday. He rushed for 1200 yards last season.

2027 SAF David Segarra of Byrnes visited South Carolina Saturday.

2027 DE LaDamion Guyton (6-3 225) of Savannah was expected to visit South Carolina on Saturday.

Clemson and South Carolina target 2027 DE Cameron Pritchett (6-3 240) of Alabaster, AL was offered by Ohio State while on a visit Saturday.

Clemson target 2027 LB Kaden Henderson of Tampa visited Alabama Saturday.

2027 Catawba Ridge CB Joshua Dobson visited Georgia Saturday.

Clemson target DE Kamhariyan Johnson committed to Alabama.
