South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer issued a pair of commitment alerts for the 2025 class Monday night. As of early Tuesday morning, none of his remaining targets had come out with a public commitment. One possibility is DT Christian Ingram (6-6 280) of Covington, GA.
Ingram took an official visit to Southern Cal last weekend and said he really enjoyed his time in Los Angeles. Monday morning he named the Trojans, USC and Kentucky as his three finalists with is announcement coming Wednesday morning at 10:00 AM.
Monday night, Ingram said USC head coach Shane Beamer and defensive line coach Travian Robertson had been in touch with him over the past two days.
“Their message to me is that they need a a player like me,” Ingram said. “I see how well they are doing, and the only group they are losing people in is the D-line. They need guys to come in and make an impact early and they think I can do that. With my skillset and Coach T-Rob’s experience, they think I can come in and make a major impact as a true freshman like Dylan Stewart and be a very productive player for them and play across the whole D-line.”
Even while on his visit to LA, Ingram said he kept an eye on the goings in in Death Valley as the Gamecocks knocked off Clemson.
“I followed that game. It was amazing seeing that game,” Ingram said. “To see them go there in Death Valley and take home a “W” like that, especially in a rivalry game, speaks a lot of volumes about them and what they come to do. They don’t come to play around. They come in to get their business done and just head back home. I loved it.”
Ingram took his official visit to USC for the Wofford weekend and since then he has had the Gamecocks at the top of his list, largely due to his feelings for Robertson.
“I just bonded with him so well, better than any coach I’m talking to,” Ingram said. “He just seems like such a down to Earth guy that I can really relate do. And then Coach Beamer, talking to him, it’s just something about him. He’s like a real dude. He’s the only head coach I’ve really been in contact with. Me and him talk on the regular. I haven’t done that with any other head coach that offered. Me and Coach Beamer, I feel like we are very locked in. Team-wise, I love them players. Just being around them, they are cool people. I just felt more comfortable with them for sure.”
If Ingram does announce for the Gamecocks Wednesday, he would give them two interior defensive linemen along with Caleb Williams of Chesterfield, VA.
