
Clemson made up for a lackluster first half with a blistering shooting performance in the second half that boosted the Tigers to an 86-58 victory over Florida A&M, Friday.
Four Tigers scored in double figures, led by veteran guard Chase Hunter’s 16 points. Hunter knocked down a 3-pointer on the opening possession of the second half, sparking a 21-4 run that helped Clemson seize control of the game.
Clemson made just 2 of 13 from behind the arc in the first half but heated up by knocking down 7 of 12 from deep after the break. Chauncey Wiggins (15 points), Jaeden Zackery (13 points) and Viktor Lakhin (12 points) joined Hunter in double figures. Ian Schieffelin grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds to go with five points after posting consecutive double-doubles in the Sunshine Slam.
Clemson (7-1) has won four straight since losing Nov. 17 at Boise St. The Tigers will look to make it five in a row when they play host to Kentucky, Tuesday. Tipoff between the Tigers and the Wildcats from Littlejohn Coliseum is set for 9:30 p.m.
