South Carolina already has two commitments for the 2026 class, and a week from Monday the Gamecocks are hopeful of adding a third. LB Keenan Britt (6-2 230) of Oxford, AL has a final list of USC, Auburn, Arkansas, Ole Miss and Oregon and will release a commitment video between 7-8 PM Eastern Time on the 29th.
“I still have some processing to do, but I tell you what, South Carolina is real high in my thinking,” Britt said. “Their interest level showed they are real high on me. They threw the offer at me late, but it was so much energy after they offered me. I just love everything about that.”
Britt said he’s been hearing a lot from the Gamecocks that he likes.
“They just told me that they really like me and I can be myself,” Britt said. “We talk almost every day. I’ve been talking to the defensive coordinator (Clayton White) and Coach (Darren) Uscher. And I talk to Coach Beamer all the time. He said to be yourself and enjoy the process while you can.”
Britt has not yet visited the USC campus, but he is coming in on July 31st so he can see for himiself what he’s been hearing from the coaches.
“South Carolina is real different, I understand that,” Britt said. “They’ve got a good team coming in. The team is very bought in. That’s what I want, to be on a bought in team and gradually win a championship.”
Britt visited the other finalists before the start of the dead period. He said along with USC, Oregon and Arkansas have been coming at him hard as he works on his decision which will be based largely on one key factor with him.
“Just the communication,” Britt said. “This is a big week. If you can communicate with me every day and show me that you really want me at your school. That’s a good tape measure, just checking to see how I’m doing and what I’m doing right now. That’s real big to me. I’m really looking at the business program. I really want to start a really good business one day.”
His primary business right now, besides picking a school, is to be the best player he can.
Britt alslo has offers from Georgia Tech, UCF, Louisville, Florida and Tennessee.
“I’m a hybrid,” he said. “I can play backer. I can play D-end, and I can play middle. I had 10 sacks last season and I had 110 tackles in total.”
Welcome home!!!!!!
