New South Carolina baseball coach Paul Mainieri celebrated his first week anniversary as the Gamecocks’ head man by joining us on SportsTalk Thursday night. Actually, claiming he was celebrating by being on the show is a bit of an overstatement, but the veteran coach expressed his happiness about being in Columbia and about being back in coaching.
It was a whirlwind week for Mainieri since his press conference last Thursday. After leaving Columbia to return home to Baton Rouge, Mainieri spent a little time in Omaha at the College World Series. Since getting back to Columbia, it’s been all meetings, phone calls and recruiting as he and his staff work to put their roster together for 2025.
So nice to put the Kingston ear behind us.
Welcome to the Gamecock family coach Mainieri!
