South Carolina football heads into Father’s Day weekend on a high note. Late Friday evening, Gaffney OT Shed Sarratt (6-5 290) announced a commitment to the Gamecocks at a party in Gaffney and via social media.
Sarratt is the 12th commitment for the 2025 class, the first offensive lineman, and the fourth pledge from the state of South Carolina for Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks.
“He really checks on me and my family, asks how I’m doing,” Sarratt said. “He sends me their practice films. He tries to help me become a better player. I feel good towards them,” Sarratt said. “I like the coaching staff. I like how they keep in touch with me and check on me every week. Coach (Shane) Beamer is a good coach.”
He chose USC over a litany of other schools, including Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Kentucky, Maryland, NC State, and Tennessee. He attended Carolina’s spring game back in April and has an official visit with the Gamecocks set for June 21st.
Sarratt said his relationship with OL coach Lonnie Teasley was a tipping point in his recruitment.
