#Gamecocks lose key offensive contributor for rest of spring (AUDO)

RB Juju McDowell will be out the rest of spring practice (Chris Gillespie)

USC football coach Shane Beamer met with the media Tuesday afternoon for his second spring session and revealed running back Juju McDowell injured his collarbone and will miss the rest of spring practice.

Beamer said McDowell came down on his collarbone attempting to catch a pass. McDowell could have continued to practice this spring with the injury, but Beamer said all parties agreed it was best to address it now, so it won’t be an issue in the fall.

Last season McDowell rushed for 63 yards and two touchdowns and caught 11 passes for 105 yards and a touchdown.

Outside of McDowell, Beamer had no new names to added to the injured list. The Gamecocks will have meetings and practices through Thursday then break for the Easter Weekend.
