The USC coaching staff plans to be active in the Transfer Portal over the next few weeks, and Monday night they made their first moves by offering a pair of prospects who have announced plans to transfer. One was TE Tyler Neville (6-4 248), an All-Ivy League performer at Harvard. In his career with the Crimson, Neville caught 62 passes for 698 yards and eight touchdowns. He has also picked up offers from ODU, Massachusetts, Boston College, Virgina and Akron since announcing his transfer plans.
A second offer by the Gamecocks went out to OG Gerquan Scott (6-4 330) who is transferring from Southern Miss. Scott was a starter for the Golden Eagles the moved into the starting lineup during the 2020 season and started each of the next three seasons. He will have one year of eligibility. He plans to set an official visit with USC. He has one set for December 8th with Auburn, and he also plans to visit Ole Miss, Colorado and possibly Oklahoma. He’s a native of Mobile.
USC might get involved with Indiana transfer LB Jared Casey (6-3 225). He began his career at Kentucky and played sparingly in his two seasons with the Hoosiers. He was mostly on special teams this season and only recorded three tackles, all in last Saturday’s game against Purdue.
USC is checking on Holy Cross transfer QB Matthew Sluka (6-3 216). He passed for nearly 6000 yards, rushed for over 3500 yards and accounted for 97 touchdowns in his career.
