Dabo Swinney held his weekly conference call with the media, Sunday, roughly 24 hours removed from the Tigers’ 24-17 loss at NC State. Swinney praised the play of the defense and said they played well enough on that side of the ball to produce a win. But the offense continues to struggle with turnovers and quarterback Cade Klubnik threw two more interceptions (including a pick-six) Saturday.
On the injury front, Swinney shared that running back Will Shipley is in concussion protocol but all of the scans on his neck looked normal. Also, Swinney is hopeful that defensive tackle Peter Woods, who didn’t travel with the team to Raleigh, NC, will be healthy enough to play this week.
Swinney and Clemson will now turn their attention to Notre Dame (7-2). Swinney said Notre Dame, led by former Wake Forest quarterback Same Hartman, looks like a complete team with great leadership. Kickoff between the Tigers and Irish from Death Valley is scheduled for noon, Saturday.
