Williams-Brice Stadium, Columbia: Saturday’s Homecoming game with Florida looked like it was going to end with a big party for USC at Williams-Brice Stadium. With over 79-thousand fans roaring their approval, the Gamecocks owned a ten-point lead with under ten minutes to play. But Florida made big plays down the stretch, and the Gamecocks did not, and the result was a gut-punch 41-39 loss that drops Shane Beamer’s team to 2-4 overall and 1-3 in the SEC.
This was a hugely important game for USC, one that may tell the tale of their season. The Gamecocks had two weeks to prepare and the coaches, especially on the offensive side, took advantage of the time to shake things up on the line and find more playmakers. Defensively, the Gamecocks had way too many busts that led to way too many big plays. Still, all they needed was one fourth down stop to win the game, and they couldn’t pull it off.

Here’s my view from Williams-Brice Stadium

This is the worst defense I have ever seen, Clayton White has got to go
Amen
I have often heard that things can get so bad that you have to laugh. Well, that can be tough to do, but can be a great pain reliever. Maybe a good panacea for the pain relief, aside from what may be happening on the field at WB, is to get rid of that annoying croaking rooster heard in the background on third downs. I feel sure it serves no purpose in “spurring” (pun intended) on the Gamecocks’ defense. Enough is enough!
