That wasn’t the aroma of fried donuts and French fries from across the street at the SC State Fair Shane Beamer and his USC players were smelling inside Williams-Brice Stadium late Saturday afternoon. That was the smell of victory as the Gamecocks led Florida by ten points with 9:31 left in the game.
Those final minutes, however, left the Gamecocks feeling like they had made a food run through the Fair and then hopped on a rollercoaster. The feeling was pretty upsetting at the end of the 41-39 defeat.
After the game, Beamer along with quarterback Spencer Rattler, running back Juju McDowell, defensive end Tyreek Johnson and linebacker Debo Williams took questions from the media.
