Virginia Tech suffered through its third consecutive losing season in 2022 as the program is now far removed from its glory days under Frank Beamer. VT hasn’t finished in the AP Top 25 since 2017 and hasn’t posted double-digit victories since 2016.
The Hokies mustered just three wins in Brent Pry’s first year at the helm and the offseason has brought significant roster turnover. There are a lot of fresh faces on the Blacksburg campus that Pry is counting on to make an impact, especially at the skill positions.
The new group will have plenty of time to get acclimated before entering ACC play. The Hokies play four non-conference opponents in September before facing Pittsburgh, Florida State and Wake Forest in consecutive weeks.
