#STRecruiting Notebook 7-5

Two more football targets, Clemson and USC, have set upcoming commitment dates. For Clemson, CB Ashton Hampton of Tallahassee set his commitment announcement for July 15th.He attended a Clemson junior day in January and was in for an official visit the first weekend in June. He also took official visits to Florida, Louisville and Arkansas. Miami and Florida State were also included on his most recent short list.

For USC, SAF Jalewis Solomon of Ellaville, GA told On3Sports he will announce on August 5th. He also said he plans for another visit to USC for their recruiting function on July 28th. He also visited USC last November for a game, in April for the spring game, and he took an official visit in June. He also made official visits to Kentucky and Florida State.

WR Cam Coleman of Phenix City, AL, who took an official visit to Clemson and had the Tigers on his short list, committed to Texas A&M.

Clemson is in the top five with 2025 DE Jakaleb Faulk (6-2 225) of Highland Home, AL. The others are Georgia, Auburn, Alabama and Florida. He camped at Clemson last month.

USC is in the top six with 2025 RB Justin Baker (5-10 200) of Buford, GA. The others are NC State, Georgia, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Michigan. He made unofficial visits to USC in April and June.

WR Jadis Jones (6-5 180) of New Madrid, MO committed to Coastal Carolina. He’s also considered a basketball prospect.

SAF Quaysheed Scott of Marion committed to Kentucky.

The USC women offered 2026 5-11 Jerzy Robinson of Phoenix and 2028 5-8 Taylor Williams of Leesburg, VA

Former USC forward Wildens Leveque is transferring from UMass to Texas A&M. Leveque played three seasons for the Gamecocks and then transferred when Frank Martin was fired by USC and hired by the Minutemen. Last season he played in 28 games and averaged 5.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.

The USC baseball team picked up an offer from 1B/OF PJ Morlando (6-3 194) of Summerville for the 2024 class. He had been committed to Mississippi State. Morlando is considered the state’s top prospect in his class and one of the top prospects in the country. He is expected to be a high draft pick in the summer of 2024. Morlando is a lefthanded hitter who hit .463 with 6 homers and 34 walks last season. This weekend he will participate in the MLB/USA High School All American Game as part of the MLB All-Star Weekend in Seattle.
