#STRecruiting: Coach shares the latest recruiting information on DE Dylan Stewart

Dylan Stewart

One of the top prospects to visit USC for their spring game was DE Dylan Stewart of Washington, DC. He’s viewed as one of the top players in the country at his position for the 2024 class. He visited USC for their spring game earlier this month. Stewart has not talked publicly about the visit, but he did share some thoughts about it with his coach Mike Hunter.

“He said he enjoyed it,” Hunter said.  “He really enjoys the atmosphere, enjoys the coaching staff and everyone that’s involved with the program.  He had the chance to talk to some other recruits that were there on the visit.  Overall, it was a productive visit. Business as usual. Went down and enjoyed himself.  That was pretty much it.”

Stewart has been an active traveler on the recruiting circuit over the past two months. HIs stops also included Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State. He was scheduled to visit Colorado last weekend but did not go, but he will visit Oregon this weekend.

Next up will be his round of official visits.

“He’s going to start taking some official visits this summer, and maybe finish up with a couple more in the fall and look to make his decision close to Signing Day,” Hunter said.  “He has three (official visits).”

Those three officials are to Georgia June 2nd, Ohio State June 16th and USC June 23rd. Penn State, Michigan and Alabama are also on his published short list.

Along with his recruiting endeavors, Stewart is preparing himself for his senior season.

“He’s had an amazing winter and now into spring,” he said.  “Just continuing on that path this summer, developing himself but also being the leader and pushing the other guys to raise their level as well.  He’s been doing a great job of that. I just want to continue to see that going into the season.”

Sterling Lucas has been heading up the USC recruiting effort and Hunter said he, and perhaps other Gamecock coaches, are scheduled to visit the school next week.
