USC suddenly has a love affair with Flour Field in Greenville. After beating Clemson Saturday afternoon at the downtown Greenville ballpark, the Gamecocks returned Wednesday night and dropped the hammer on Upstate 19-1. The Gamecocks amassed 17 hits including six doubles and two home runs. The drew 12 walks and were hit by pitches three times. They also left 15 on base.

Cole Messina had four of the hits and Gavin Casas three including a pair of doubles. Casas also drove in five. Despite all the runs, the Gamecocks hit only two homers. Braylen Wimmer and Dylan Brewer each hit their first of the season.

After a scoreless first inning, the Gamecocks scored seven runs in the second inning and six in the third to settle the issue. As the game went on, coach Mark Kingston was able to clear out his dugout. He used 15 different batters and seven different pitchers.

Matthew Becker started for USC and pitched he first 3.2 innings allowing one run on four hits and three walks while striking out three. Nick Proctor followed and got the final out of the fourth and earned the victory.

The Gamecocks are now 13-1 and will host Bethune-Cookman for a three game series this weekend.
