Second half spurt leads #Gamecocks past Blue Hose 68-57 (AUDIO)

USC turned a three-point deficit with 12:55 left into an 11-point lead with 6:27 to play and went on to a 68-57 win over Presbyterian Sunday night at the Colonial Life Arena. The 14-0 run was sparked by Hayden Brown who scored nine points during that stretch.

After building the 11-point cushion, the Gamecocks basically matched the Blue Hose basket for basket as the lead never got under nine points the rest of the way.

The Gamecocks shot 49% for the night and hit 8-three pointers. The Blue Hose shot 52% but were hurt by 11 turnovers the Gamecocks turned int0 14 points.

GG Jackson led the Gamecocks with 18 points. Meechie Johnson added 16 and Brown 14 points. Those three combined to make 19 of the Gamecocks’ 27 field goals. Winston Hill led the Blue Hose with 16 points.

The Gamecocks have won two in a row and are 5-4. They will play at UAB Wednesday night.
