
COLONIAL LIFE ARENA: The top-ranked Gamecocks hit a groove early on and rolled to a 79-54 victory over Memphis, Saturday. Kamilla Cardoso had her way in the post, scoring a game-high 18 points to go with 10 rebounds. Aliyah Boston notched double-double no. 66 with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
USC raced out to a 13-point lead, closing the first quarter on a 17-2 run. Cardoso accounted for 12 of those points.
The Gamecocks defense took it from there, holding Memphis to 32% shooting and blocking eight shots. USC did almost all of its work down low, needing just one made 3-pointer to tally 79 points. Sania Feagin (11 points) and Laticia Amihere (10 points, 3 blocks) joined Cardoso and Boston in double figures.
South Carolina will take the week off before returning to action with a home date against Liberty, Sunday, Dec. 11th. Tipoff from Colonial Life Arena is set for 2 p.m.
