Two Clemson defensive targets are set to announce their commitment decision Saturday and Monday, respectively. First up will be ATH Misun Kelley of Daniel who has scheduled his reveal for Saturday at 3:00 PM. The former Virginia Tech commitment visited Clemson last weekend for the Syracuse game, and he has an official visit scheduled for Clemson November 26th. Monday night around 6:00 PM DT Kayden McDonald (6-3 310) of Suwanee, GA will make his announcement with Clemson, Ohio State, Florida, Michigan and Oklahoma the finalists. He was at Clemson last Saturday and has an official visit scheduled with the Tigers for the USC weekend. He has taken officials to the other four programs and also went to Florida for a game this season.

TE Luke Chilton (6-7 240) of Fredericksburg, VA had a phone call with USC tight ends coach Jody Wright Thursday night and came away feeling good about an offer from the Gamecocks in the next three weeks. He said Wright invited him back to watch a bowl practice next month. Chilton visited for the Texas A&M game last weekend.

2024 RB Anthony Carrie of Tampa made an unofficial visit to USC last weekend for the Texas A&M game. The Gamecocks are among his more than 40 offers at this point, and they have carved their niche with him. “Visit was amazing. ! I loved the atmosphere and the family feel from the head coach down to everyone else. I love them they are in my top 10. I do like the way they used MarShawn (Lloyd).” Carrie cited Alabama, Michigan, Stanford and Georgia as other schools high up on his list right now.

I’m glad coach Wright makes the assumption that South Carolina will go bowling. With 4 remaining games left on the schedule to get 1 win for bowl eligibility, I believe this assumption is a stretch. The Gamecocks offense is now close to #100 in the country. Finding a win in the next 4 games is going to be highly unlikely unless their offense suddenly finds a way to get first downs, sustain drives and score points. If they can’t somehow find a way to beat Vandy this Saturday, their bowl chances will all but evaporate! Winning at Florida is not likely, and UT and Clemson aren’t even worth mentioning.
