USC football coach Shane Beamer interacted with the media on a conference call Sunday night for the first time as the coach of a nationally ranked team. The Gamecocks are 25th in the AP and Coaches Poll this week following their win over Texas A&M Saturday night. It’s the first time the Gamecocks have been ranked since September 4th, 2018. And their four-game winning streak is the third longest one in the SEC.
On top of that good news, Beamer added that there were no new injuries coming out of the A&M game, so the team should be in good shape health wise for this week’s home game against Missouri. The Gamecocks opened as six-point favorites, but Sunday night the consensus line had settled to 4.5 points.
The game for the Mayor’s Cup will kick off at 4:00 PM and be televised on the SEC Network.
