Palmetto Pigskin Tour: Coastal Carolina (AUDIO)

CCU QB Grayson McCall (Left) and CB Lance Boykin are ready for the season opener against Army

Coastal Carolina football has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the past couple of years under the direction of head coach Jamey Chadwell. A season ago, the Chanticleers notched their first bowl victory with a 47-41 victory over Northern Illinois in the Cure Bowl in Orlando. That followed an 11-1 campaign and the Sun Belt Conference regular season title in 2020.

This season, the Chanticleers are looking to replace key contributors on both sides of the ball, including NFL 4th round draftee Isaiah Likely. The Massachusetts native is turning heads as a rookie with the Baltimore Ravens, the same way he did as a first-team All-Conference performer in the Sun Belt. The good news? CCU returns one of the top quarterbacks in the country in Heisman Trophy candidate Grayson McCall.

On Friday, CCU head coach Jamey Chadwell, along with McCall and cornerback Lance Boykin, joined #SportsTalk for the “Palmetto Pigskin Tour” in advance of this Saturday’s home game versus Army.
