It will be Friday at 2:00 PM before there’s a commitment announcement from OT Oluwatosin Babalade of Hyattsville, MD. After visiting USC last weekend, Babalade said he was thinking about announcing Wednesday or Friday. He said Tuesday night he is pushing his decision and announcement to Friday, and he tweeted Wednesday that the time will be 2:00 PM. His decision is down to the Gamecocks and Maryland. He had thought about visiting Maryland Sunday after returning home be he wasn’t able to. He also said as of Tuesday night he was still working on his decision.
Clemson target OC Connor Lew of Kennesaw, GA plans to announce on Friday night. Auburn, Georgia and Miami are the others on his short list.
Clemson target CB Shelton Lewis of Stockbridge, GA plans to announce his commitment Monday at 9:30 AM. North Carolina is the other finalist.
Camden DT Xzavier McLeod is moving closer on his commitment announcement as he asked on Twitter Tuesday night for someone who could film his video. McLeod’s unofficial visits last week were to USC and Georgia. He’s also had LSU, Florida, Michigan and Texas A&M on his short list. He took official visits in June to LSU and Michigan and has been to Florida and Texas A&M unofficially.
Clemson offered CB Jermaine Mathews of Cincinnati, an Ohio State commitment.
One-time Clemson target DE Colton Vasek committed to Oklahoma.
Clemson target OT Stanton Ramil committed to Michigan State.
Clemson target DT Hunter Osborne of Trussville, AL committed to Alabama.
USC target DE Kelby Collins plans to make known his commitment announcement date in a few days.
DT Connor Knight of Trussville, AL, who had a US offer and made multiple visits, including the spring game, committed to USF.
LB Grant Godfrey of Suwanee, GA, brother of Clemson basketball freshman RJ Godfrey, committed to Kentucky. Father Randall Godfrey was a star LB at Georgia and in the NFL.
WR Devin Hyatt of Dutch Fork and now IMG Academy updated his favorites list to USC, Tennessee, Georgia, Auburn and Kentucky. He told Rivals he has officials this fall set with Kentucky and Auburn and is working on dates with USC and Tennessee.
OL Jake Norris (6-3 265) of Wren plans to join the Clemson program in 2023 as a preferred walk-on.
6-6 Dailyn Swain of Columbus, OH, who was offered Tuesday by Clemson, plans to name his top five on Friday. Some of his other offers are Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Butler, Cleveland State, Cincinnati, Arizona State, Kansas State, Marquette, Xavier, Toledo and Ohio.
USC offered 6-6 Arden Conyers of Westwood. He also has offers from North Carolina A&T, Wofford, Radford, Upstate, Winthrop, Georgia Southern, Kennesaw State and Jacksonville.
