After losing a commitment Sunday from safety Cameron Upshaw, USC Monday offered SAF Terrance Love (6-3 195) of Fairburn, GA. Love has been an Auburn commitment since April, and he attended the Big Cat Weekend at Auburn this past weekend. Love has a strong offer list that also includes Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, Stanford, Notre Dame, Oregon, LSU and Texas A&M. Last season he made 58 tackles with 3 interceptions and one pass break up. He’s also a receiver and track athlete running the 200 and 100 meters. Last season he caught 30 passes for 402 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Clemson and USC made the top 10 with CB Omillio Agard (6-0 170) of Philadelphia. The others on the list are Alabama, Michigan, Georgia, Notre Dame, Penn State, Miami, Texas A&M and Tennessee.
WR Carmelo Taylor of Roanoke, VA had planned to announce on Sunday, but Saturday afternoon he tweeted that he was postponing his announcement with no new date set. He has USC, Virginia Tech, Penn State, East Carolina, West Virginia, Maryland, Liberty and Old Dominion as his finalists.
Some non-committed prospects who confirmed Friday night their visits to Columbia include 2024 WR Mazeo Bennett of Greenville, 2024 OT Blake Franks of Greenville, 2024 DT Michai Boireau of Fairburn, GA, 2024 DT Hevin Brown-Shuler and 2024 LB Sammy Brown of Jefferson, GA. Also in for a visit was 2023 DE/TE Nyckoles Harbor of Washington, DC. Harbor has a short list of USC, Michigan, Southern Cal, Miami, Maryland, Georgia and LSU. Harbor is also one of the nation’s top sprinters and will heading to a national track event from Columbia.
Camden DT Xzavier McLeod visited USC Thursday and Georgia Friday, and possibly into Saturday. He tweeted Saturday that a top three and a commitment are coming in a “few weeks” but no date has been determined.
USC commitment Jaden Robinson was among the recruits visiting Florida Saturday.
DT Daevin Hobbs of Concord, NC, who has USC in his top six, was offered by Georgia. He also has Alabama, Auburn, Michigan, North Carolina and Tennessee on his short list. Clemson is also recruiting him. He visited Alabama over the weekend.
USC target DE Kelby Collins visited Florida Friday.
Oceanside Collegiate OT Monroe Freeling visited Georgia Saturday. He was at Alabama Thursday.
Clemson and USC target WR Tyler Williams of Lakeland, FL won’t talk further about his recruiting until his announcement September 27th. He visited Georgia over the weekend. He also has Texas A&M and Ole Miss on his short list.
One-time USC target TE Jayvontay Conner of Kernersville, NC committed to Ole Miss.
Daniel CB Misun Kelly was offered by Virginia Tech and Charlotte.
Camden DE Shymeik Jones was offered by Jackson State.
Cardinal Newman OL Logan Locklear committed to The Citadel.
Spartanburg QB Raheim Jeter announced a decommitment from West Virginia. He committed to the Mountaineers on December 20th.
