Conference expansion in college athletics is certainly the hot topic this summer. With news of Southern California and UCLA leaving the PAC-12 to join the Big 10, it’s hard to believe that tradition holds any sway in college sports these days.
Another league trying to stay above water is the ACC. With rumors swirling that Clemson, Florida State, Miami, and others may be listening to overtures from the SEC and Big 10, the waves are a bit choppy along “Tobacco Road”.
On Tuesday, ACC Network and SXM radio personality Mark Packer joined SportsTalk to discuss the present and future of college athletics. Packer believes that “everybody, every company, has a number” and “there is a price tag that eventually leads you to say I do.”
It was a fascinating discussion that if you missed, you need to hear. If you caught it, you might want to listen to it once again.
I hope we hear something next week!! Folks are getting damn tired of not having a decent sports shoe in the morning. Thank God for The Open this week!,,
