Swinney shares thoughts on #Clemson signees, staff changes and NIL (AUDIO)

Clemson head football coach Dabo Swinney held a press conference, Wednesday, to share his thoughts on the Tigers signing class and the new roles for some members of the coaching and training staffs. As part of his comments, Swinney detailed how legacy signees WR Cole Turner, DE Jaheim Lawson and LB Kobe McCloud caught the attention of the Clemson coaching staff. Cole, Jaheim and Kobe are brothers to former Tigers Nolan, Shaq and Ray Ray.

According to Swinney, Cole Turner is a “bigger, faster athlete than Nolan” and Jaheim Lawson dominated every high school game during his senior season. Swinney also heaped praise on running back signee Keith Adams, Jr., whose father, Keith Adams, was an All-American linebacker at Clemson before embarking on a lengthy NFL career.

Swinney also addressed how the university is preparing players for Name, Image and Likeness opportunities, how former offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell is adjusting to his new role as Director of High School relations and the backstory to quarterback Hunter Johnson’s return to Clemson.

Athletics Director Graham Neff also addressed the media, fielding questions about NIL, his assessment of the baseball and men’s basketball programs and the athletic department’s new Clemson+ streaming service.

The Tigers will get in some drills next Wednesday with Spring Practice set to begin March 2nd, culminating in the Spring Game April 9th.
