Not only was Wednesday National Signing Day across the country, it also was the day of a number of coaching moves across the country. For USC, two staffers reportedly are leaving the Shane Beamer administration. At Clemson, head coach Dabo Swinney announced some new positions and new contracts for some of his staff members.
Mike Uva of GamecockCentral broke the news Wednesday morning that former Gamecocks star quarterback Connor Shaw will is leaving his role as Director of Football Relations. Not long after, Chris Clark of GamecockCentral had the story that tight ends coach Erik Kimrey is departing to return to high school coaching as a head coach in another state.
Those reports were later confirmed by other media outlets including TheBigSpur and The State. Shane Beamer is to meet with the media today at 2:00 PM.
At Clemson, Swinney released details of his organization for 2022 which includes the additions of Thomas Austin as offensive line coach and Nick Eason as defensive tackles coach as well as some new responsibilities for staff members. And the Board of Trustees approved new contracts for some of the coaches.
