Transfer SAF Devonni Reed confirmed this afternoon he is in Columbia and is taking an official visit to USC over the next couple of days. . Hale McGranahan of TheBigSpur first wrote the news of the visit this morning. Though it’s a dead period, transfers can take officials if they go thru orientation at the school they are visiting. Reed has also picked up offers from Coastal Carolina, Mississippi State, Louisville, Texas, Wisconsin and Virginia Tech among others since entering the portal.
Another receiver in the Transfer Portal picked up an offer from USC, and several others, in the hours after announcing his plans Wednesday morning. Antwane Wells (6-1 204) is a native of Richmond and was a standout at FCS power James Madison this season and was named a second team All-American. He caught 83 passes for 1250 yards and 15 touchdowns. He averaged 15 yards per catch. In 2020, Wells had 33 catches for 603 yards and 6 touchdowns. Also jumping in with offers on Wednesday were Auburn, North Carolina, UNLV, ODU, Buffalo, ECU, Coastal Carolina, Virginia Tech, Mississippi State and Miami.
