One of South Carolina’s major offensive weapons announced Wednesday night his return to the team for the 2022 season. Leading receiver Josh Vann emerged in 2021 as one of the top receivers in the SEC, and he is coming back for more next season. “#gamecocknation we running it back!
This season Vann caught 43 passes for 679 yards and five touchdowns. He averaged almost 16 yards per catch.
Vann gave an indication in December that he would return for 2022. According to an NFL source, Vann turned down an invitation to play in the NFLPA All-Star Game later this month, a signal that he wasn’t ready to move on to the pro ranks.
While several defensive standouts have announced plans to return to USC next season, Vann is the first of the top offensive skill players to decide to return. The top two running backs, Kevin Harris and ZaQuandre White, previously announced they would give up their final season to move on to the NFL.
