#STRecruiting Notebook 12-6

This is the final week of the live recruiting period for football coaches before the early signing period begins December 15th.  And USC coach Shane Beamer plans to wait to the very end before making his in home visit with one of the top remaining uncommitted targets in the state, Dutch Fork WR Antonio Williams.  Williams put on quite the show Saturday night in the 5A State Championship Game with 12 catches for 155 yards and a touchdown. He finished the season with 2596 total yards, 1625 yards thru the air, and 20 touchdowns.   Several USC assistants, including receivers coach Justin Stepp, were there to watch, but not Beamer because by watching the game he would have forfeited his in-home visit.  Lou Bezjak of The State reported Saturday afternoon Beamer and Gamecock assistants plan to make their in-home visit with Williams on Saturday night after he returns from the Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl in Myrtle Beach.  The only staff known to have visited in his home during this past week was Clemson, with head coach Dabo Swinney, receivers coach Tyler Grisham and running backs coach CJ Spiller.  Williams took official visits to USC, Ole Miss and Auburn and an unofficial visit to Clemson.

Beamer is expected to visit with DT D’Andre Martin of Durham on Monday. Martin announced a decommitment from Virginia Tech Sunday afternoon. He made an official visit to USC the weekend of the Auburn game. He plans to announce and sign December 15th.

He said he’s waiting on the Gamecocks to see what they might do with him before moving forward. He said he’s looking for a place where he can start and play, and he’s going to take his time on this decision.
