Coastal Carolina saw a couple of streaks come to an end on Saturday as the Chanticleers fell 42-40 to Georgia State on “Homecoming” in Conway. Not only was it CCU’s first loss at Brooks Stadium since November 7, 2019 (Louisiana 48-7), the setback also knocked Coastal out of both national polls for the first time in 22 weeks.
Georgia maintained its strangle hold atop both the AP and Coaches polls, while Alabama moved up to second in the Associated Press rankings, ahead of Cincinnati. Oregon and Ohio State are four and five in the AP, while the reverse is true for the coaches. The next College Football Playoff rankings will come out on Tuesday.
