Coastal Carolina gains in the Sunday polls

Coastal Carolina defeated Troy on Thursday night in Conway to improve to 7-1, and the voters in the AP Poll and USA Today Coaches Top 25 rewarded the Chants by moving them up three spots in each to #21. Coastal has now been ranked for 21 consecutive weeks. They will play at Georgia Southern Saturday night. Georgia was the unanimous choice as #1 again this week in both rankings. Cincinnati, Alabama, Oklahoma and Michigan State complete the top five in the AP. The Coaches have Ohio State ranked 5th ahead of Michigan State. And undefeated Wake Forest is ranked 10th by the AP and 9th by the Coaches.
