#STRecruiting: Williams has positive official visit experience with #Gamecocks

WR Antonio Williams of Dutch Fork has been a primary target of USC head coach Shane Beamer and receivers coach Justin Stepp since they arrived on campus. Williams had visited USC earlier in the year, but this weekend was the chance for him to feel the complete love of the program as he was in for his official visit.

“I had a great time,” Williams said. “It was a great atmosphere. The fans were crazy down there. It wasn’t the outcome they wanted, but I had a great time down there.”

Williams participated in the typical official visit events, and he attended the Kentucky game Saturdat night. He also got some personal time with Beamer and Stepp.

“They showed me how much they want me,” Williams said. “Eating with coach Beamer, that is crazy. He is a head coach and I am eating breakfast and dinner with him. “Coach Stepp is my guy and shows me everything I want in a coach. Got to hang with some receivers and they told me even more about him.”

Williams also visited the Gamecocks unofficially for the spring game in late April, and for unofficial visits in early June and in late July. This was his first official visit and he has two more scheduled, Ole Miss October 22nd and Auburn November 27th. He also has Georgia, Notre Dame and Florida State on his short list, and he’s drawn Clemson interest as well.

This season, Williams has 21 catches for 476 yards and 5 touchdowns.
