South Carolina State head football coach Buddy Pough is gearing up for his 20th season with the Bulldogs. Pough currently owns a 136-75 record at SC State, where he is the school’s all-time winningest coach.
As his team gets ready to open preseason camp on Friday, Pough recently joined SportsTalk to recap SC State’s challenges during a shortened spring campaign. His team was 3-1 after the MEAC cancelled plans to play a spring season during the Covid-19 pandemic. The school was able to cobble together a four-game schedule which included matchups against Alabama A&M and Alabama State, along with two games against Delaware State.
Attending the South Carolina “Coaches for Charity” gala in Greenville on July 27th, Pough stopped by our broadcast location to chat about the charity event, recap this past spring, and to look forward to the season opener on September 4th at Alabama A&M.
