Cink wins third RBC Heritage title (AUDIO)

Veteran Stewart Cink took the RBC Heritage by the throat on Friday with a nine under 63 for a five shot lead, and he never loosened his grip on the tournament finishing Sunday with a one under 70 for a four stroke win over Harold Varner III and Emiliano Grillo. It’s the third Heritage title for the 47 year old Cink who also took home the plaid jacket in 2000 and 2004. It’s also his second win on the PGA Tour this season.

None of the nearest competitors got closer than three strokes to Cink on Sunday as he avoided major issues in his final round. He had two birdies and a bogey on the day and finished the tournament with just three bogeys. Cink birded the par five 5th hole from two feet, and hit his drive on the par three 17th to within eight feet and calmly rolled in that putt for birdie as well.

Russell Henley took the low scoring honors from the state contingent. His second straight 67 Sunday left him at eleven under par. Dustin Johnson carved out a 66 to finish at ten under. Other state scores…Wesley Bryan -8, Lucas Glover -7, Matthew Nesmith -4.
