Brady Allen homered twice to spark the Gamecocks attack in an 8-5 win over Florida at Founders Park, Sunday. South Carolina hit five home runs in the game and swept the Gators for the first time at Founders Park. The last time Carolina swept Florida at home was at Sarge Frye Field in 2006. Three of the Gamecocks long balls came in the home half of the second when Wes Clarke, Andrew Eyster and Colin Burgess all went deep. Allen hit his big flies in the third and sixth innings. South Carolina (16-6, 4-2) has won five in a row and 12 of 13 at Founders Park this season.
The Gamecocks also got solid pitching performances from Will Sanders, Julian Bosnic and Brett Kerry. For the weekend, the Gators hit just .174 off South Carolina pitching.
The Gamecocks will look to make it six wins in a row when they play host to Gardner-Webb at 7 p.m., Tuesday.
