
For the second time in four days, Clemson Sunday lost out to Georgia for a top prospect. Four-star LB Jalon Walker of Salisbury, NC announced a commitment to the Bulldogs over Clemson, North Carolina, Ohio State, Alabama and Auburn. The Tigers and Tar Heels were thought to be the strongest opposition for the Bulldogs. For much of his recruiting, it appeared Walker would choose Clemson. In talking with the media after his announcement, Walker cited former USC coach Will Muschamp, now a defensive analyst at Georgia, as being part of a “great defensive core that are great defensive people.” On Thursday, Georgia landed safety Malaki Starks of Jefferson, GA over Clemson and Alabama.
Clemson offered DT Hero Kanu (6-5 293) of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. He’s a native of Germany. He also has offers from Southern Cal, Oregon, Texas A&M, Michigan, Washington and Texas.
Clemson target DE DJ Wesolak of Boonville, MO was offered by Alabama and LSU.
OT Grayson Mains of Suwanee, GA confirmed he took a personal visit to USC Friday to check out the academics and the facilities. Mains has the Gamecocks, Tennessee and Michigan State as his top three.
Hammond RB CJ Stokes was offered by Penn State Sunday. It’s his second offer from a Big Ten school in recent days, the other coming from Michigan.
Lakewood SAF Zayveon Wells was offered by Eastern Michigan.
