The 6th ranked USC women are headed to the NCAA Tournament in San Antonio as the #1 seed in the Hemisfair Region and will face Mercer Sunday at 6:00 PM. A win will moved them forward to a meeting with either Florida State or Oregon State on Tuesday. The Gamecocks are in their 9th straight NCAA Tournament and are #1 seed for a 5th time.
The Gamecocks will play the tournament without veteran reserve guard LeLe Grissett. Coach Dawn Stanley announced the senior will miss the tournament while recovering from a lower leg injury suffered in the SEC Tournament earlier this month. Grissett averaged 7 points and 4 rebounds off the bench this season.
